HOUSE IN PINO

Boasting the highest per capita income in Piedmont, Pino Torinese is nicknamed the Turin’s Beverly Hills.

It is a small village surronded by villas and housing compounds scattered in the green. Here we worked on a poor-quality, mid-century modern villa, nested in lush vegetation on the border of a park. The garden is steep and almost unusable for the open air living which such a setting would suggest.

Being forced to get rid of the existing two-sloped asbestos cement roof, we suggested to trade it for a flat one. A new steel frame bears a roof garden complete with pool, solarium, open air kitchen and shaded lunch area, which quickly became the heart of the project – and today of the life of the house.
